Starting point
Alerting and incident documentation were spread across several parallel tools, with manual handovers between shifts and units. The downstream reporting obligation could only be met through retroactive research, and the data states across the individual tools regularly diverged.
The task
A single portal for alerting, incident tracking, and reporting. Existing dispatch interfaces had to be preserved. Every action had to be logged for audit, without slowing down operation during an active incident.
Key architectural decisions
- Separation of incident and reporting data models to simplify audit
- Event-based status updates with role-specific state transitions
- Role and permission based workflows with a complete audit log
- Responsive interface for desktop and mobile, without a separate native app
- Deployment in an EU-bound cloud environment with a documented recovery procedure
Status and handover
In productive operation. Handover documentation, permission matrix, and operations guide are with the client. Codinental supports the system under a written maintenance agreement with defined response times.
